World Athletics 2025, the updated medal table

Italy has climbed to seven medals in the 2025 World Athletics Championships, being held in Tokyo in the same venues that four years ago served as the stage for the Olympic Games postponed from 2020 to 2021 because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Nadia Battocletti’s bronze in the 5,000 meters gave the Azzurri a record number of medals at an Olympic Games: they have won one gold, three silver and three bronze medals so far. Ahead of everyone is the United States with 20 medals, including 12 gold.
