Juventus-Inter, Fabio Capello’s ruling ignites debate

We will have to wait until 6 p.m. Saturday to see the Juventus and Inter l’one against the’other but the Derby d’Italia, as often happens, is already being played on other fronts: in this sense, it was the words of Fabio Capello to ‘Sky Sport’ to ignite the debate, especially given the very harsh judgment on two Nerazzurri players, Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolò Barella.

“On paper Calhanoglu is one of the three best midfielders d’Europe– said the Bisiaco, speaking of the Nerazzurri number 20 -. However, in Turkey’s match against Spain (played last Sunday and won 6-0 by the Red Furies, ed.) I saw a footballer who was walking on the field. He had no pace, no speed, he lacked determination”.

“Barella against Israel played a mediocre game– Capello then added, moving on to the’other centerpiece of Inter’s midfield.”

He didn&#8217t look like the usual Barella to me, it seems that there was something negative at the level of preparation, and it&#8217s possible given Inter’s schedule this summer. I wouldn&#8217t want anyone to be still thinking about the Champions League final lost to PSG: Chivu has to work on that too“.

“Juventus, on the other hand, has made a good market, is playing well and has also found Vlahovic– goals again, commented Capello -. Then there&#8217s Yildiz, who I am sorry is not Italian because he is one of the few who jumps the man in this league and the national team could have used someone like him. They just have to recover Koopmeiners, so far the ugly copy of the one seen at Atalanta.

The reaction of fans to Capello&#8217s statements, especially on social media, has been quite sharp, on one side and the other, and the debate remains alive: there are in fact those who agree with the words of the former Milan, Real Madrid, Roma and Juventus coach, and those who consider his judgment on the two Inter midfielders too harsh and his judgment on Juventus too benevolent, considering that the season has just begun and the judgment itself will inevitably be affected by Saturday&#8217s result.
