A charity event, an ambitious vision and a story that combines tradition, territory and future: at the Brianza Golf Club, entrepreneur and winemaker Antonio Faravelli took part with his “Golf and Wine 1895” project, proposed exclusively for the Golfaround solidarity initiative.

Owner of the historic Cantine Vitea, Faravelli has brought to the field – it is appropriate to say – a new idea of promoting Made in Italy that merges two Italian excellences: wine and golf. “Golf and wine united as ambassadors of the territory, to increase tourism and better represent us with our excellence in the world,” Faravelli said.

Founded more than a century ago, Cantine Vitea represent one of the iconic wineries of Oltrepò Pavese. During the event, numerous participants were able to taste and purchase the winery’s award-winning wines, including some historic labels that were also appreciated by great names of the past such as Giacomo Puccini.

“Golf and Wine 1895 is the brand that can be the driving force behind it,” explained Faravelli, emphasizing the strong tourism value of the initiative, which aims to promote golf by combining it with one of the most well-known Italian wine products in the world: wine. The goal is ambitious, but clear: to relaunch golf in Italy, while enhancing local territories and productions through an international brand built on Italian quality and identity.

“Relaunching golf in Italy is very important. Increasing the practitioners of this wonderful sport would help the sector take off, boosting territories, productions, tourism and the sport itself,” Faravelli added. The project, in fact, aims to turn the golf-wine combination into a real lever of tourism and territorial development.

The volcanic entrepreneur has no doubts: “Golf is too important for a country, especially for Italy, which has a natural vocation for tourism. If golf grows, the whole supply chain grows.” Hence the final, simple but powerful invitation, “Let’s play together and work together for the good of Italy.”
