Como, Nico Paz is not enough: Genoa draws at 92' and makes it 1-1

Como and Genoa draw 1-1 at Sinigaglia Stadium in a very intense match especially in the closing minutes, and one that leaves a big bitter taste in the mouth of the hosts. In fact, the Grifone equalized as time expired thanks to Caleb Ekuban, collecting his second point of the season. On the other hand, Cesc Fabregas’s lineup rises to four, leading thanks to a feat by Nico Paz but unable to hold on to a victory that would have propelled it to the edge of the standings zone that is currently worth access to next year’s Champions League.
The result, however, was not a good one.
The result, however, is not wrong, as evidenced by the fact that the first chance of the match is precisely built by Genoa (Colombo does not take advantage of Norton-Cuffy’s initiative on the right). Then Como trembles on a relieve by Morata to Butez and a shot from the distance by Masini, but then takes the lead. It happens on 13′, when Nico Paz collects the ball from the same Morata, leaves Masini on the spot and beats Leali with an impregnable left.
Nico Paz, Jesus Rodriguez and Kuhn try to double for Como, then Leali performs a miracle on Kuhn himself. The match is still wide open: Butez denies Colombo the equalizer, then Valle saves Como on Masini. Before halftime there’s another chance for Morata, who misses aim. Then it is Vasquez who blocks a dangerous initiative by Jesus Rodriguez.
Good start to the second half for Genoa, dangerous with Frendrup and Malinovskyi. Como, however, holds up, and indeed comes forward again with Caqueret: shot from outside the box and ball on the bottom. Then it is Leali who denies the double to Vojvoda. The end of the game, however, sees the guests particularly determined: Colombo is bricked once, Ostigard twice. The Larians also remain in a numerical inferiority for the direct red for Ramon (hard intervention on Messias), and at 92′ they suffer the equalizing goal. Ekuban scored it, deftly correcting into the goal a Norton-Cuffy conclusion deflected at the post.
