Two Italian players featured in Wednesday’s Champions League. Inter Milan overcame Ajax 2-0, putting behind them their two league defeats against Udinese and Juventus.

Decisive was a wild Marcus Thuram who twice hit a header on the developments of as many corner kicks taken by Calhanoglu, at the end of the first half and at the beginning of the second half. Well alongside him was Pio Esposito, who was thrown on by Cristian Chivu.

One-sided match instead in Paris, where Atalanta was defeated 4-0 by defending champions Psg. At the Parc des Princes, Marquinhos immediately unlocked the result by taking advantage of a mistake by Maldini in the decommitment phase.

Carnesecchi was forced into overtime (also parried a penalty to Barcola) but could do nothing about Kvaratskhelia. In the second half the French closed the score with Mendes. In full recovery Gonçalo Ramos completed the poker.
