Andrea Dovizioso categorical about Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia’s crisis

The MotoGp World Championship has entered its final phase, with two issues dominating the debate: the dominating season of Marc Marquez, now very close to putting the seal on his ninth world title (seventh in the premier class), and the crisis of the Catalan’s teammate, Pecco Bagnaia, whose successes riding for Ducati seem a distant memory. Andrea Dovizioso, speaking to ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’ drew his very personal picture of the situation, having raced for Ducati and against Marquez (then at Honda).
For the Forlivese rider, Marquez “is strong in all aspects, that is the difficulty. Besides being stronger in some aspects, he is strong on everything. The ‘negative side’ is that he cannot hold back, coming from him, and that is dangerous. He has had so many falls and has been lucky to get really little hurt. He is good at being physically prepared and having the right mentality, but then you also need luck”.
For Bagnaia, on the other hand, Dovizioso does not want to give specific advice, but he feels like encouraging the Piedmontese rider: “He is going through a difficult situation because a rider who came from another brand in his house is making a difference. It is heavy in general. On technique I can’t know anything, but when you’re a rider who has been escalating all the time to winning the world championship, you come to important convictions that a situation like today takes you apart”.
“He has to be able to find a way technically to ride the way he wants to ride, but to be able to find his mental situation and be able to render his 100 percent. I am not in a position to give him advice, but he is smart and he is beginning to understand the reality of the situation. It is complicated and difficult, but he still has a year left on his contract and he has time to be able to try” concluded ‘Dovi’.
