Numia Vero Volleyball Milan introduced itself.

At the Sala delle Colonne of the Banco BPM headquarters in Milan, Numia Vero Volley Milan presented itself this afternoon, just a few days before the first commitment on the calendar, the Courmayeur Cup, scheduled for Friday, September 26 and Saturday, September 27 in the Aosta Valley city. The meneghina team made official its roster and staff with which it is preparing to face the 2025/2026 season between championship – tenth consecutive participation in Serie A1 for Numia -, CEV Champions League, the highest continental event for clubs, and the Italian Super Cup, with the meneghine that on Saturday, October 18, 2025 will be on the scene in Trieste to play for the first trophy of the year.
The press conference was held in the city of Courmayeur, in the Aosta Valley.
At the press conference, conducted by journalist and face of Prime Video Alessia Tarquinio and the “voice” of Vero Volleyball, Roberto Sciannamea, spoke – in order – the “host” Giuseppe Castagna (CEO Banco BPM), Alessandra Marzari (president of Consorzio Vero Volley), Martina Riva (Ass. allo Sport of the Municipality of Milan) and Federica Picchi (undersecretary with responsibility for Sport and Youth of Lombardy) who brought greetings from the Municipality of Milan and the Region.
Subsequent to the speeches on stage, the parade of female athletes marked one of the highlights of the day. Interviewed on stage, the new captain of Numia Vero Volley Milano, Paola Egonu – honored along with Anna Danesi, Eleonora Fersino and Benedetta Sartori for their recent World Championship victory – Rebecca Piva, Elena Pietrini and Francesca Bosio, as well as coach Stefano Lavarini and sports director Claudio Bonati. The final moment of the conference, on the other hand, was entirely dedicated to Freddy, the new technical sponsor of Vero Volleyball, which in the day, after the speech by Carlo Freddi – president of the sportswear brand – presented the 2025-2026 kits of Numia Vero Volley Milano.
In closing, Roberto Sciannamea recalled the upcoming engagements that await Numia: the debut match in the championship against Bergamo – scheduled for Monday, October 6 at 8:30 pm at the Opiquad Arena in Monza – and the big match against Novara, which will be played in the splendid setting of the Unipol Forum in Assago on Saturday, November 15.
The Vero Volleyball women’s first team, fresh from the Scudetto final in the 2024-25 season, is renewed to aim for the highest goals, in Italy and Europe. Milan’s new captain will be the confirmed Paola Egonu; with her, still starring centerbacks Anna Danesi and Hena Kurtagic, setter Elena Pietrini and libero Juliette Gelin. Many new faces in the Milanese house: at the direction box here is Francesca Bosio, flanked by American Kami Miner; at the center the newcomers are Benedetta Sartori and Nicole Modesti. The hitting department is enriched with the arrivals of American Khalia Lanier, Rebecca Piva and Emma Cagnin. Joining Egonu in the opposing department will be Dutch Celeste Plak. Completing the Numia Vero Volley Milan roster is Italian national team libero Eleonora Fersino. Also joining the team for the pre-season period is Russian opposite Vita Akimova. Only confirmations instead on the bench, starting with coach Stefano Lavarini, who will still be joined by assistant coach Luca Bucaioni and assistant Andrea Mafrici.
