Ducati, Pecco Bagnaia takes cold feet after a good Friday

Signs of recovery for Pecco Bagnaia in the Japanese Grand Prix. The Ducati centaur was the fastest in the first free practice session, while in pre-qualifying he finished in seventh place, gaining direct access to Q2.
“It’s not the first time this year that we’re doing well on Fridays, so at the moment I’m quite happy but very content – said the Piedmontese at the microphones of Sky Sports -, I want to wait for tomorrow’s race to see if we can be competitive. Certainly the tests done in Misano helped a bit but we have to wait for tomorrow”.

“Yes having the test day we were able to focus on other things, it is definitely not easy because we have been going after feeling all year and we had to try things that were never in our thoughts – added the three-time world champion -. In the end I think having that day was crucial, we can be happy but as I said it is only Friday, we have to wait for qualifying but especially Sprint which is where I usually struggle the most”.
“This morning and this afternoon to start in the turn we had some difficulties, some little problems that can happen sometimes. Definitely I liked the medium tire, the soft definitely has more grip but it also drops more. We will see tomorrow but for the Sprint I think the soft will be the right choice” concluded Bagnaia.
