A velvet debut for Jasmine Paolini at the WTA 1000 in Beijing. The Tuscan, number 6 in the seeding and 8 in the WTA ranking, defeated Anastasija Sevastova, world number 221, with a final score of 6-1 6-3 after one hour and ten minutes of play.

The Blue is forced to cancel two break points in the opening game and two more in the third game. Having overcome the delicate moment, Jasmine went on the run and strung together seven consecutive games with which she won the first partial (6-1) and went ahead by a break in the second (2-0).

Thanks to this victory Paolini flies to the round of 16 of the ‘China Open‘ where she will face the U.S. Sofia Kenin, 27th seed and number 26 in the WTA ranking.
