Champions League 2025-2026: Villarreal-Juventus, the likely lineups

Today (9 p.m.), Juventus will be on stage at the Villarreal pitch for the second day of the regular season of the Champions League (here, continuously updated, are the probable lineups of numerous matches to be played throughout Europe on the day). The Bianconeri, after a pyrotechnic 4-4 draw in the opener with Borussia Dortmund, are looking for their first European victory.
The hosts, after losing in the opener to Tottenham, want to get unstuck. Proven 4-4-2 for coach Marcelino with, up front, the Pépé-Mikautadze duo. In defense Renato Veiga, a former Juventus player.
On the other side, Tudor seems intent on relying on 3-4-2-1 with a few lineup changes. In defense, room for Gatti (no Bremer). McKennie should play alongside Locatelli while, in attack, confirmed Yildiz and big chance for David. Closing out the offensive trio should be Koopmeiners, although Conceiçao is pushing for a starting jersey.
The two teams faced each other in the round of 16 of the 2021/22 Champions League. After the Bianconeri’s excellent 1-1 draw at home to the Spaniards, Villarreal won with a dry 3-0 victory in Turin.
The probable lineups
VILLARREAL (4-4-2):Luiz Junior; Mourino, Rafa Marin, Renato Veiga, Sergi Cardona; Gueye, Santi, Buchanan, Alberto Moleiro; Pépé, Mikautadze. All: Marcelino.
JUVENTUS (3-4-2-1): Perin; Gatti, Kelly, Cabal; Kalulu, Locatelli, McKennie, Cambiaso; Koopmeiners, Yildiz; David. All: Tudor.
