Verona beaten at the Bentegodi by Sassuolo

Sassuolo’s big blow at the Bentegodi, the Emiliani beat a willing Hellas and gloat in front of 21963 spectators including 281 visiting fans. It was a victory with a sweet taste for the Emiliani of former Grosso, bitter for Zanetti’s Scaligeri, still winless and already embroiled in the B zone.

For the record: in the stands watching the match was Paolo Vanoli, former coach of Torino. Standings: Sassuolo 9, Verona 3. Next round (7th day of the championship): Pisa-Verona (Saturday, Oct. 18, 3 p.m.), Lecce-Sassuolo (Saturday, Oct. 18, 3 p.m.).

On the other side, Grosso’s boys, cautioned for protests, sniff the big blow that could materialize in the 45th minute: Laurientè, free kick from the edge slightly off-center on the left, Montipò deflects into a corner from which nothing springs.

Resume. Same film, nothing done until the 13th minute: Giovane tries to surprise Muric who responds present. In the 24th minute Serdar’s foul on Fadera, unquestionable penalty this time for Sassuolo: beats Pinamonti, central shot, Montipò rebounds, Pinamonti is quick to rebound into the net, Verona-Sassuolo 0-1. Hellas puts its heart into it, Muric rises to the top and lowers the portcullis on a couple of occasions. Six minutes of recovery, nothing changes: Verona-Sassuolo 0-1.
