Shanghai Masters 1000: Darderi laughs, Arnaldi doesn’t

Matteo Arnaldi bid farewell to Shanghai and China in the second round of the ongoing Masters 1000 in the Dragon Country. The Italian tennis player was overcome in two sets by Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, number 20 in the ATP rankings.

Arnaldi was folded with the score of 6-4 6-4 in one’hour and 30 minutes of play: the San Remo player was unable to oppose the Iberian, who confirmed his excellent form.

Luciano Darderi, on the other hand, had a party, settling home favorite Bu Yunchaokete in two sets with the scores of 6-4, 6-4: the Italo-Argentinean, number 29 in the ATP rankings, disposed of the match in an hour and a half. In the first set he broke his opponent&#8217s serve in the third game, in the second he took an early 5-1 lead and then handled his opponent&#8217s reaction without worry.

In the third round there is a derby: Darderi will face Lorenzo Musetti, who overcame Argentina&#8217s Comesana in two sets.
