In Mandalika, in the Indonesia MotoGp Grand Prix, Thai rider Somkiat Chantra crossed the finish line in 13th position, earning valuable points for the IDEMITSU Honda LCR team.

Despite the extreme conditions and the difficulty of an all-out race, Chantra started with determination, trying from the start to stay hooked to the main group. However, a lack of feeling with the bike compromised his race pace, preventing him from pushing hard for the duration of the race.

Although not in ideal conditions, Chantra remained focused, avoided mistakes and finished in the points zone, once again demonstrating solidity and maturity on the track.

“I am happy because we won points, and that is always good. It was a tough race for me: I didn’t have a good feeling with the bike and I wanted to stay with the group, but it was very difficult. So I focused on not making mistakes, bringing home points and finishing the race to gather important data for Australia” said the Asian at the end of the race.
