MotoGP: Marc Marquez’s father reveals a backstory about his son

Julià Marquez is a decidedly proud father. His two sons, Marc and Alex, race and win in MotoGP. In particular, eldest son Marc has returned to dominate the premier class, winning the ninth World Championship of his illustrious career.
And yet, behind Marc Marquez’s many successes, there are also many injuries, including the’latest one that occurred in Mandalika. “There have been two bad moments in his career. I saw him in great difficulty twice: when he suffered from diplopia in Moto2 (Malaysia 2011, ed.) and when he had injured his arm”, the words of his father to AS.
However, according to Julià Marquez, it was precisely the injuries that gave additional strength to Marc who, coming out of them, returned to the track stronger and stronger because, his father’s words, “… without motorsport he cannot live”.
Even so, if the vision problems did not resolve, a plan B was already ready: “I simply told him that we would switch to cars. A real possibility? No, but I’d said it to encourage him” his father”s quip. Who knows, maybe he would have become a phenomenon on four wheels as well, although seeing him in MotoGP is a privilege for everyone, especially for his father who, now, is also enjoying his brother Alex who is aiming to close the World Championship behind his own older brother.
