In the heart of Mississippi, Steven Fisk captured his first victory on the PGA Tour, commanding the Sanderson Farms Championship with coolness and talent. The American rookie closed with an incredible final 63 (-24 total), the best score of the day, sprinting past South African Garrick Higgo at the end of an electrifying duel.

Starting behind the leader, Fisk kept his composure even in the tense moments of the day. While Higgo alternated birdies and bogeys in the top 12, Fisk quietly moved up the leaderboard. The challenge heated up in the final round, with a spectacular exchange on hole 16: Fisk strung a very long 14-foot putt, but Higgo responded immediately with a masterful shot, shushing the crowd with a finger to the lips.

But the twist came on 17: Higgo’s putt just missed the hole, paving the way for Fisk. On the last hole, the 26-year-old showed nerves of steel, backing a perfect shot to the foot of the shaft, signing the ninth birdie of the round and taking home the trophy.
