Jordi Alba said enough

After nineteen years of a more than honored career as a professional, Jordi Alba has bid farewell to playing soccer: the now former fullback, who has linked his name above all to Barcelona, with whom he played from 2012 to 2023, made his decision public with a video posted on his social channels.
“I made this decision in a happy and conscious way – said Jordi Alba -, because I feel I have faced my path as a footballer with all the passion I can muster. However, now it is time to take a new path. Soccer has given me everything, I want to thank the clubs, coaches, teammates, staff and even my rivals”.
“Thanks to Atletico Centro Hospitalense, Cornellà, Nastic de Tarragona, Valencia, Barcelona, the Spanish national team and Inter Miami. You have taught me that the jersey is not only felt, but lived. Thanks also to my dad and my family: thank you all” concluded an emotional Jordi Alba, who thus concludes his long experience as a footballer at 36 years of age.
In his rich palmarés, Jordi Alba boasts with Barcelona a Club World Cup, a Champions League, a UEFA Super Cup, six Spanish championships, five King Cups and four Spanish Super Cups, while at Inter Miami he won a Leagues Cup and a Supporters’ Shield. With the Spanish national team, with whom he played from 2011 to 2023, he went on to win the 2012 European Championship and the 2023 Nations League.
