It&#8217s a very happy time for Felix Auger-Aliassime who, freshly married, celebrated his return to the court with a two-set victory he scored against Lorenzo Musetti in the round of 16 of the Shanghai Masters1000: “If I had to worry about tennis because of my marriage I would have other problems, I mean it”.

“I spent the best two weeks of my life with my wife, our families and our friends. It’s been wonderful. The circuit can wait when you experience moments like this. Moments like this, from a personal point of view, help you take a break – still added the Canadian – I got here early to train, I could have played in Tokyo or Beijing but it was impossible since I hadn&#8217t in the previous weeks. But coming here early I think it was the right choice to make: to train, to relax to try to play a good tournament”.

Back to the field: “I played well executing almost everything perfectly. When you experience days like these you welcome them with open arms but you also have to stay clear-headed and remember that it won’t always be like this and you will also need to find different ways to win other matches. But if I can play like this until the end I would be the first one to be happy”.

“The serve worked well throughout the match and in a couple of dangerous circumstances it helped me close it out in two sets. It doesn&#8217t always happen, but when it does, you&#8217re happy. Then, of course, you also have to put yourself in the right conditions: to be able to raise your level, pull your shots, aim at the right angles and stay cool under pressure. We really hope to continue like this until the end of the tournament”.
