Everything is ready for the one hundred and ninth edition of the GranPiemonte presented by Crédit Agricole, organized by RCS Sport, which will start tomorrow from Dogliani to conclude, after 179 km and 2700 meters of elevation gain, in Acqui Terme.

.

The route, renewed from the last edition, presents numerous altimetrical pitfalls: among them is the Castelletto d’Erro tear, with double-digit gradients, to be tackled twice in the last 50 km.

The GranPiemonte presented by Crédit Agricole will be the 18th round of the Coppa Italia delle Regioni whose overall classification is led by Christian Scaroni.

The number 1 backbone will be on the shoulders of Neilson Powless, who 12 months ago imposed himself with a splendid solo attack. The American, already the author of two seasonal successes, is particularly well suited to undulating courses such as this year’s.

Main challengers include Isaac Del Toro, back from a triumphant season with fourteen victories, Filippo Ganna, silver in the European Championships time trial, and Michael Matthews, always at ease on mixed courses.

Also worth keeping an eye on are Egan Bernal (winner in 2019), Andrea Bagioli (winner in 2023), Matej Mohoric (second in 2022), Christian Scaroni (five wins in 2025 and fourth place at the European Championships), Alberto Bettiol (recently third at the GP de Québec), Tobias Lund Andresen (second at the Coppa Bernocchi), Tobias Halland Johannessen (sixth at the Tour de France), and Lorenzo Mark Finn, the Under-23 world champion, highly anticipated to face the pros.
