World Cup Qualification 2026: Lithuania-Poland, the likely lineups

On Sunday evening at 8:45 p.m., the S. Dariaus ir S. Girėno Stadium in Kaunas hosts the confrontation between Lithuania and Poland, valid for Group G of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Two teams with opposite ambitions: on the one hand, the hosts, who are now mathematically cut off from the qualification race; on the other, the Poles are still in a full fight with the Netherlands for the first place, which is worth direct access to the rainbow event scheduled between Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Jankauskas is expected to confirm the solid 5-4-1 with Golubickas and Dolznikov manning the midfield side lanes, flanking Vorobjovas and Gineitis in the middle, while forward the only reference will be Paulauskas.
Urban seems intent on going for an offensive 4-3-3: Zielinski, on loan from Inter Milan, will lead the midfield along with Slisz and Szymanski, while the trident will consist of Kaminski and Grosicki on either side of Lewandowski.
