For two summers in a row, Ademola Lookman has been on the verge of leaving Atalanta but the Orobic club, while initiating a tug-of-war with the player in both cases, turned down offers from PSG in 2024 and from’Inter a few months ago. With the Nigerian national definitively back in the ranks, the club is ready to close the talks once and for all, proposing the renewal of the current agreement.

According to reports from ‘TMW’, in fact, the Dea management would be thinking of extending his contract expiring in 2027 by another year, but increasing his salary as early as next season to the figure of 3 million euros (he currently receives a figure of 1.8 million). A move that would confirm Lookman’s intention to keep him at the center of the Atalanta project.

Returning to the field last Sept. 21, in the final minutes of Torino-Atalanta, Ademola Lookman then skipped the match with Juventus to take part in the next two, against Club Brugge and Atalanta, and also play with the Nigerian national team in the Oct. 10 2-1 win over Lesotho. The striker has yet to score a goal this season: the last one remains that of May 12 in Atalanta-Roma 2-1.

A class of 1997, born in London into a family originally from Nigeria, Lookman spent his early career between Charlton, Everton, RB Leipzig, Fulham and Leicester. His landing at Atalanta was in the 2022-2023 season, the one of his explosion from a scoring point of view: 15 goals in total in that year, followed by 17 in 2023-2024 (the year he won the Europa League with a hat trick in the final against Bayer) and 20 in 2024-2025.
