Andrea Dallavalle sets no limits. And he makes an appointment with Valentino Rossi
Andrea Dallavalle, fresh from his silver medal in the triple jump at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, gave a lengthy interview to ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’: “This medal gives me a new awareness: that of definitely belonging to the elite of the specialty”.
“Since the youth categories, I have been collecting important results – added the Light Blue triple hurdler -. Then, among the big boys, the 2021 Olympic final, the European silver medal, the 4th place world 2022 and, this winter, the bronze at the Euroindoors. But it is the measurement, the 17.64, that projected me into a different dimension”.
“Now I have a lot of confidence in myself and my staff. And the certainty that, by confirming the choices of a year ago and continuing to believe in teamwork, I will improve even further– then stressed the Piacentine -. Since I was 13 years old I have been followed by coach Ennio Buttò and osteopath and physiotherapist Daniele Gandolfi. After the many injuries of 2023 and 2024, the team has expanded: today it includes athletic trainer Michele Palloni, from Marche, who worked with Tamberi and now also at Virtus Aversa of A2 men’s volleyball; nutritionist Alfonso Presutto, from Salerno transplanted to Trento, where he also works with Crippa, Lando and Tavernini; and mental coach Max Damioli, from Romagna. What matters is that they work together: they hear each other, consult and decide what is best for me. Professionalism needs professionals”.
Turning on the’venture to Japan: “The trip was fascinating: because of the places visited and the friendship established between us. With Tortu and Arese, who organized all the travel, it dated. With the others it developed under the circumstances. There was harmony and no rift. Back home, I went to the Dordoni field in Piacenza, where I train: we had a toast with Ennio’s group of 6-7 athletes and all the others. For the past two years there has also been Simone Biasutti, a triplist from Trieste, now stopped due to pubalgia”.
Then he revealed his dream: “As a superfan of the motorcycle world, a meeting with Valentino Rossi: this year I met him at Mugello, but only in passing, a photo and away”.
The Italian triplist is also a soccer fan, an A.C. Milan supporter: “I professed to be a Milan fan and from the club I received a very welcome invitation to the match with Roma on Nov. 2”.
“In November I will resume training. Next week, meanwhile, with the 60 or so comrades from the Yellow Flames, I will be in the barracks at Castelporziano. We will stay together and do team building: in the spring we competed in karts, this time we will give ourselves to Lasergames” concluded Dallavalle.
