Decidedly positive day for Fabio Di Giannantonio at Phillip Island: in fact, the Roman centaur closed Friday’s pre-qualifying on the Australian circuit in third position, a result that allows him to skip Saturday’s Q1 with both feet and focus directly on the decisive timed session, Q2.

At the conclusion of the MotoGp practice day, Di Giannantonio made no secret of his enthusiasm: “I love riding here so much, this place is incredible – he said -. I bring a lot of energy and motivation to the track, because I want to enjoy every lap, since we don’t come to this track so often. The day was good, we were quite fast and the feeling with the front end was very good right away”.

“We are working in the right direction, the feeling was getting better and better and in the end we were able to make a good time attack – added the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team rider -. We still lack a couple of tenths in the dry lap, but we are satisfied with the race pace. It’s only Friday, we stay with our feet on the ground, but it was a really good start to the weekend”.

Registered 1998, Di Giannantonio is aiming hard on the’appointment in Australia to return to the podium, a result he has been missing at the Sprint level since Misano and at the long race level since Mugello. The Roman rider is also aiming to shorten the distance in the overall standings from teammate Franco Morbidelli, who is 16 points ahead of him with four race weekends left in the championship.
