On the sidelines of the Champions League challenge at home to PSV, Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna spoke to the microphones of ‘Sky Sport‘ responding to criticism in the market about the elements that arrived last summer and that, according to some insiders, would struggle to make their mark.

“Honestly we are focused on the job – said Manna -We have always said, but they were not empty words, that we changed nine players because we needed to expand the roster, to make changes on what is a multi-year project. We are calm because these guys need to adapt”.

“Going from certain realities and different leagues to Napoli, which is a well-established reality, which had a team that won the Scudetto, is not easy – added the Parthenopean club’s ds. We are calm, there will certainly be moments when it will go less well, but we have to stay focused, work and wait for them. And they must also understand quickly that in any case Naples is a reality of absolute level”.

Manna also addressed the subject of De Bruyne: specifically, he was asked if Conte had actually sought him out. “Kevin was a’market opportunity– explained the executive. Sometimes opportunities can be taken or not. We decided to take this path, I think Kevin has fit in very well in our reality. He is performing very well, he is giving us a hand, he is responding on the field and that&#8217s the important thing”.
