At the conclusion of a very bitter evening for Napoli in the Champions League, with the 6-2 suffered by PSV to induce deep reflection throughout the Neapolitan environment, Antonio Conte commented on what happened to the microphones of ‘Sky Sport‘, also expressing his thoughts regarding the decisions regarding the market to deal with commitments inside and outside the national borders.

“This year we knew we had to play more games than last year’and we had to insert so many players. we took nine and in my opinion they were too many – commented the Salento coach, in his second season at Napoli after the one that ended with the Scudetto -: inserting new heads in the locker room is not easy, although the double commitment forced us to do it”.

“We all have to put ourselves on the line, me first. When I said it would be difficult I meant it – added Conte -. If I say these things it is not to put my hands up, but because I think them: I don&#8217t want to make excuses, I just say it&#8217s difficult. Now we have to find the’chemistry of last year, we need time and work”.

Tuesday’s match against PSV was a nightmare evening for Napoli: in addition to the six goals conceded by Vanja Milinkovic-Savic (one of them from the ‘friendly fire’ of Alessandro Buongiorno, an ’own goal that was worth the momentary 1-1), the partenopei also had to deal with the direct red for Lorenzo Lucca, who was ejected for a gesture deemed offensive by match director Siebert.
