A lot. Those are just the games I dream of playing. I was going crazy on the bench. There was no way I wanted to miss the first one with the new team. I was so sorry not to be on the field, but at the same time I am very proud of the team, what they did.

You come from an unsatisfactory World Cup with your Brazil…

It was definitely not the World Cup of my dreams, on the contrary. But it gives me an extra push, a motivation to improve here in Italy and be able to get a good result, aim higher and higher. Eh, it’s tough. It’s hard for us athletes to get away from the diet. And now, that I’m not moving too much, I have to be even more careful about what I eat, the calories I consume. It’s hard, especially with this cold weather … but it’s part of life as an athlete. It is.

Are you passionate about soccer? What do you think about Ancelotti’s arrival on the Seleçao bench?

Yes. I like it. In my opinion they are doing a good job with the Brazilian national team. We needed a coach like that, an important one, to bring experience and confidence to the players. We had been missing for a few years. We have a very strong team. What we were missing was just someone to put us on the right track.
