MotoGP: Fermin Aldeguer speeds through Sepang free practice before deluge

Fermin Aldeguer sets the fastest time in the free practice held at the Sepang circuit, home of the Malaysian GP. The rider of the Gresini team, reduced from the first career success in MotoGP, stopped the clock at 2’00.199, certifying his excellent moment of form.

At his back a good Pecco Bagnaia who, despite the many difficulties suffered lately, defended himself well on the track, finishing in second place at 0.256 seconds from Fermin Aldeguer himself. Excellent third place finish, chronometrically, by Joan Mir. Marco Bezzecchi, one of the favorites for victory in Sunday’s race, recorded the fifth final time.
The session was affected by the heavy rain that fell in the final part of free practice. Alex Marquez was the protagonist of a fall, fortunately without consequences, just before the’arrival of the copious rain.
It should be remembered that the Malaysian Grand Prix is the 20th round of the 2025 MotoGP scheduled at SIC, Sepang International Circuit. As known, Marc Marquez will be absent. The World Champion’s season is already over due to the scapula injury that forced him to undergo surgery and, consequently, to raise the white flag for this last slice of the World Championship.
