Jannik Sinner is ready to return to the court again. After getting the best of the Italian derby with Flavio Cobolli, the world No. 2 is expected to challenge the hostile Alexander Bublik. Up for grabs is a spot in the semifinals at the Vienna Open, a tournament the blue won in 2023.

A challenge that hides some pitfalls for the South Tyrolean. The record is clearly in favor of Jannik Sinner, who has won five times, losing “only” on two occasions. In this 2025, the two have faced each other three times already with Jannik Sinner coming out victorious from his challenge with the Kazakh at Roland Garros and also at the US Open. However, many remember the defeat suffered in Halle in a match in which Alexander Bublik was practically perfect, making no mistakes and winning on the comeback.

Jannik Sinner and Alexander Bublik have never faced each other on indoor concrete, where the Blue is riding a streak of 18 consecutive wins. The Kazakh is, however, a tricky opponent because of his unpredictability. He loves, for example, to try to surprise his direct opponent with spectacular shots, such as serving from underneath.

One more reason to keep your concentration high in today’s challenge, scheduled no earlier than 5:30 p.m. on Center Court at the ATP 500 tournament in Vienna.
