Kevin Bonaldo died, he was only 25 years old

He died this morning at San Bortolo Hospital in Vicenza Kevin Bonaldo, a 25-year-old cyclist of the SC Padovani Polo Cherry Bank: he had been struck by an illness on September 21, immediately after finishing the Piccola Sanremo di Sovizzo.

After a month in intensive care, his condition worsened in recent hours. During the first weeks of her hospitalization, she had given signs that gave hope for a recovery. Then the sudden deterioration, leading to today’s tragic outcome.

Originally from Loria, in the province of Treviso, Kevin had grown up in a family deeply connected to cycling. He had started racing as a child with UC Loria, then moved on to UC Giorgione and later to VC Bassano, with which as a Trainee he won second place in the Italian team time trial championship. He had achieved the same result among the Under-23s in 2021 with Team Qhubeka.

After experiences with Zalf Euromobil Désirée Fior and Work Service, he had joined SC Padovani Polo Cherry Bank in 2024, becoming a figurehead for the team. This summer, he had also achieved an important fifth place at the international race Dookoła Mazowsza in Poland.
