Sofia Goggia immediately grounded in Sölden

The Alpine Skiing World Cup does not start in the best way for Sofia Goggia. In the first event of the season –the women’s giant slalom in Sölden –the skier from Bergamo in fact fell during the first run after only two intermediates.
The Azzurra forked with her arm on the middle wall, sliding into the snow under the eyes of a startled Federica Brignone, who was present at the parterre. However, Goggia immediately got up and continued on her skis to the finish line.

A fall therefore without consequences fortunately for the blue ski that must already do without the defending champion Federica Brignone and Marta Bassino, costretta all’operation after suffering a fracture of the tibial plateau in training last Wednesday.
For the record, it was Julia Scheib who dominated the first run: the Austrian won by a clear margin ahead of Paula Moltzan (+1.28), who was ahead of Zrinka Ljutic (+1.32), Lara Colturi (+1.34) and Lara Gut-Behrami, who will battle it out for the podium.
