Genoa soccer club: the Grifone had never gotten off to such a bad start in Serie A with 3 points as this year’s. The defeat that accrued in Turin only in the end of the game is not enough to soothe the spirits around the Rossoblù team, bottom of the standings after no less than five knockouts in eight games and the first win of the season that still has not arrived. Despite these nightmarish numbers, however, Patrick Vieira does not focus after the game on the future of his bench, preferring to make an appeal to the team.

“This moment is really very difficult, certainly for the coach, but also for the players and for all Genoa fans – Vieira stressed to ‘DAZN’ -. Three thousand people came to see us today, and this confirms how much passion there is around the team. Now we have to stick together and accept criticism. Then we will have to continue working with the group unity that there’s always been”.

At the end of a game lost in the 90′, it is inevitable to also focus on his choices in the match in progress. But Vieira said he was convinced that his substitutions did not affect the final result: “Difficult to answer now, I have to review the whole match. However, I don&#8217t think it&#8217s a matter of the substitutions. We struggled in the second half because Torino is a quality team, and they created problems for us. Then we, just like it has been happening since the beginning of the season, we don&#8217t take advantage of the opportunities we create. The first half was also decisive, when we could have made it 2-0 and we didn&#8217t”.

The numbers of the strikers who make up Genoa&#8217s roster also weigh heavily: after eight league games, no one among Colombo, Stanciu, Carboni, Gronbaek and Cornet has yet recorded even one goal to their credit. An aspect that is in turn likely to affect the future of Vieira, who despite rotating the men at his disposal has not been able to get the red and blue team to score more than the 4 goals currently on the books.
