Paulo Dybala leads Roma to another victory, the sixth in the first eight days of Serie A, and signs the 1-0 win on the field of Sassuolo that projects Gian Piero Gasperini’s Giallorossi once again at the top of the standings on equal points with Napoli. Breathing but eating their hands instead, Verona, which at the Bentegodi suffered a comeback by Cagliari and closed at 2-2: still postponed the appointment with the first win of the season, but comes the momentary exit from the relegation zone.

Roma confirmed itself as a solid team that looks for substance (in 8 games as many goals have come to their credit, while the goals conceded are just three). In Reggio Emilia the decisive goal came on 16′, after two missed chances by Sassuolo with Thorstvedt and Fadera. Instead, Dybala was on time, pouncing on a ball rejected by Muric after a conclusion by Cristante and scoring. Thorstvedt missed the equalizer, then the Giallorossi took no more chances and simply controlled the lead.

The second half opened with an attempt by Koné, but then it was Pinamonti who narrowly missed the goal for another Sassuolo chance. Roma regained its center of gravity and went to the conclusion with Celik and then Pellegrini, while the hosts also lost Berardi to injury. Final then in control for the Capitolini, who could double twice with Wesley and once with Pellegrini. But the result did not change anymore, and that was enough to find Roma at the top of Serie A again.

Everything happens instead in Verona, where the Gialloblù take the lead on 23′ thanks to Gagliardini, who intervenes with a header on Giovane’s free kick and anticipates Caprile. Hellas dreamed of its first win of the season all the more in the second half, when at 59′ the same Giovane sent Orban through on goal for the Gialloblù double. The final quarter d’hour, however, is a nightmare for the Bentegodi crowd: at 77′ Obert serves Idrissi who with a great left-footed shot beats Montipò, at 92′ Pavoletti feeds Felici who signs the final 2-2 by beating the home goalkeeper even with a tunnel.
