The countdown to the Quilter Nations Series, which will see Italy engaged in November against Australia, South Africa and Chile, has officially started in Verona. Speaking on the sidelines of the first day of work was Andrea Zambonin, a class of 2000 second line who just a few weeks ago began his experience in the English Premiership, with the Exeter Chiefs.

“There is a lot of energy in the beginning of this gathering – said the rugby player from Vicenza -It is always nice to be part of the Italy squad and to be able to see again staff and teammates I haven’t seen for a long time. We have some very interesting challenges ahead of us, all different from each other. But first of all we have to find our game mechanisms again and we will try to make the most of the first few days here in Verona all together”.

The opponents in November are definitely probing: Australia and South Africa need no introduction, but Chile is also asserting itself year after year and has recently celebrated its second consecutive World Cup qualification: “There are no better or worse opponents to face – confirmed Zambonin -Each match is a separate story with a specific preparation”.

“It is clear that our approach always remains the same – he added -. Our focus is on performance and what we can control. Step by step: now we prepare the game against Australia and then we will go and analyze the next opponents. The Italy jersey? Everyone aspires to wear it, it’s clear. I hope to play as a starter, as does everyone. The main aspect is the commitment that will never lack, at all times. Our task is to work to the best of our ability”.

Italy will play on Saturday, Nov. 8 against the Australian Wallabies at Bluenergy Stadium in Udine, seven days later it will face the South African Springboks, reigning world champions, at the Allianz Stadium in Turin while on Nov. 22 it will play at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genoa against the Chilean Condores.
