Jannik Sinner easily qualified for the round of 16 of the last Masters 1000 in 2025, the one on the indoor concrete in Paris, easily beating Belgian Zizou Bergs in his debut match in the tournament.

On Thursday, the world number 2 will face Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo, number 21 in the ATP rankings. The match is scheduled to take place on the Center Court of the Defense Arena, the tournament’s new venue, and is scheduled to begin no earlier than 7 p.m.

The balance between the two tennis players is three wins to two in favor of Sinner. In 2022, there were three challenges between the two: Jannik retired at 4-1 to the South American in the quarterfinals of the Miami Masters 1000, then won 7-5 1-6 6-3 in the round robin of the Davis Cup finals and 7-5 6-3 in the round of 16 in Vienna.

In 2023 the two crossed rackets again in the round of 16 of the Internazionali d’Italia and it was Cerundolo who prevailed 6-7 6-2 6-2. Finally, last spring, in the same tournament at the Foro Italico and again in the round of 16, it was Sinner who won 7-6 6-3.
