Nicolo Zaniolo puts another of his former teams in his sights

After goals against Cremonese and Juventus, the third league goal in the Udinese jersey arrived on Saturday for Nicolò Zaniolo, a goal that alone is worth three points because it was decisive in the 1-0 win with which the Friulians defeated Atalanta’Atalanta. On the sidelines of the match, the 26-year-old said he was pleased with the weight of his goal, without thinking too much about the fact that he scored it against one of his former clubs.
“I am really happy not only because I scored, but because this goal gave us the victory – said Zaniolo to Dazn microphones, in the mixed zone, after the conclusion of the match -. I am happy to be here, I was welcomed by my teammates right away, I immediately felt part of the group”.
In the crosshairs, now, there’s another former team of Zaniolo, Roma: the two teams will face each other at the Olimpico on Sunday, November 9, at 6 pm. “Our ambition is to go there and have our say– said the 1999-born footballer, who precisely against the Giallorossi has already scored, in December 2024, during his spell at Atalanta -. We can go far this year, let’s not set ourselves any limits”.
That against Atalanta is the fourth win in 10 games for Udinese, which previously beat Inter 2-1 on Aug. 31 at San Siro, Pisa 1-0 at the Arena Garibaldi and Lecce 3-2 at home. Kosta Runjaic’s team is coming off a decent 2024-2025 season, in which it finished 12th in its 30th consecutive Serie A championship.
