Felix Auger-Aliassime unabashed after defeat against Jannik Sinner

Sadness but also pride: Felix Auger-Aliassime after the Paris Masters 1000 final lost to Jannik Sinner congratulated the Blue, who is back to number one in the world after winning the fifth tournament in 2025. “It is never easy to lose in the final… but Jannik, congratulations to you and your team”.
His words are a tribute to the South Tyrolean’s greatness: “Push all the players and myself to improve and do better and better to try to catch up with you”, said the Canadian tennis player, now one step away from qualifying for the ATP Finals in Turin.
“I can only give you credit and take my hat off to you for all the improvements you have had since we have known each other. I think we were playing FIFA when we were 16 or 17 years old…” recalled Auger-Aliassime jokingly, evoking an episode from the past.
Sinner thanks to this victory now leads 3-2 in head-to-head matches with the North American player, who rose to’eighth place in the ATP rankings.
