Antonio Faravelli, a winemaker-golf player originally from Montù Beccaria, in the heart of Oltrepò Pavese, is the owner of Cantine Vitea and the creator of the project “Golf and Wine 1895” which was presented at the final of the Golfaround charity circuit, held at the Carimate Golf Club.

The initiative was a great success, thanks in part to the quality of Cantine Vitea’s award-winning wines, which were enthusiastically tasted and purchased, especially those much appreciated by the famous composer Giacomo Puccini.

The entrepreneur then told about his famous project. The goal of the initiative is clear: to revitalize golf in Italy, while enhancing tourism, food and wine excellence and territories of origin. Faravelli aims for the brand “Golf and Wine 1895” to become a driving force for the promotion of Italy as a top sports and tourism destination, combining the passion for golf with the international reputation of Italian wine.

“It is crucial to grow golf in our nation” Faravelli explained. “The more people who play the sport, the more the local economy, tourism and promotion of the area” is strengthened. The project aims to transform the golf-wine combination into a real engine of territorial development.

With great conviction, Faravelli concluded: “Golf is strategic for a country like Italy, which has a natural vocation for tourism. If golf grows, the whole system grows. Let us play together and work together, for the good of Italy”.
