Trent, new stop for Daniele Lavia

Itas Trentino has announced that Daniele Lavia will undergo surgery on the right hand he injured in August in the weight room, resulting in a number of compound fractures and tendon injuries, an injury for which he was forced to miss the World Championships in the Philippines won by his national teammates. Here is the text of the club’s statement.
“Over the next week, Itas Trentino’s setter Daniele Lavia will undergo revision surgery on the fifth finger of his right hand injured at the end of August during a collegial with the Italian national team. The operation was necessary after the latest tests showed a delay in bone consolidation. Recovery time to be determined.”
Daniele Lavia turned 26 yesterday and has been playing with Trento since 2021, with whom he has won two championships (2022-2023 and 2024-2025), an Italian Supercup (2021) and a Champions League (2023-2024). With the national team at the World Cup he won gold in 2022, at the European Championships gold in 2021 and silver in 2023, and in the Nations League silver this year.
At the individual level, he was honored as the best setter at the 2019 Under-21 World Championships and the 2021 and 2023 European Championships. At the club level, before Trento, he played with Corigliano, Materdomini, Porto Robur Costa and Modena.
