WTA Finals, Jasmine Paolini ends with a'another defeat

Jasmine Paolini, world number 8, also lost her last match of the WTA Finals on the indoor concrete in Riyadh, beaten 6-2 6-3 by Jessica Pegula of the United States, number 5, finishing last in the elimination round dedicated to Steffi Graf.

From 1-1 in the first set Jasmine lost four consecutive games with two breaks giving the 5-1 lead to Pegula, who shortly after closed out the set.

The 29-year-old from Bagni di Lucca, Tuscany, also saves a break point in the first game of the second set but in the third, after recovering from 0-40, she gives up her service once more and once more also at 5-3, in the game that seals Pegula’s victory after only 63 minutes of play.
