The FISI Press Office has updated on the condition of Flora Tabanelli, a young acrobatic freestyle star who fell during training in Stubai. Here is the text of the statement.

“Flora Tabanelli underwent a magnetic resonance imaging and a thorough examination by the FISI Medical Commission, chaired by Dr. Andrea Panzeri” on Friday morning at the La Madonnina clinic in Milan.

“The consultation showed, for the 17-year-old freeski champion, a holder of the Centro Sportivo Esercito, an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee. Given the importance of the season, Flora will begin from Monday a one-month rehabilitation phase at J/Medical, in Turin: the rehabilitation phase will be crucial for whatever choice will be made later.

“If, based on the answers that the knee will provide to the doctors after the first rehabilitation phase, it will be possible to proceed with a further, more specific rehabilitation aimed at taking part in the Olympics, without any risk and in maximum safety for the athlete and keeping in mind his young age and career prospects, this path will be pursued. Otherwise, an intervention” will be scheduled.

“Tabanelli, had fallen badly in the landing phase after a jump during ongoing training in Stubai. The 17-year-old from Emilia, a world champion and holder of the World Cup in big air, had immediately shown a sprain to her right knee”.
