Cantù looking for redemption, Nicola Brienza starts from a detail

Reduced by the defeat in Sassari (100-84 in the midweek round), Cantù Basketball aims to react immediately in the next Serie A game against another newly promoted team, Udine, which will visit PalaDesio in the game scheduled at 8 p.m. Sunday. In the press conference on the eve of the game, Nicola Brienza talked about what he expects starting with one detail: the’approach to games.
“Like all the matches in this championship it will be an important challenge – said the Brienza coach -, an importance that grows even more because we will play at home. We come from another occasion when we struggled to approach the match and this is something we need to improve already starting tomorrow. We are confident because on the part of everyone there is the will to work on this lack and thus play a game decidedly more like the one against Cremona than the one in Sassari”.
“Cantù and Udine are two clubs and two teams that know each other well from the healthy sports rivalry of the last A2 seasons, fortunately we managed to get promoted together last year and this year we are both fighting to save ourselves and keep the category. That is why there is a need to play the best possible game and be competitive over all forty minutes” concluded Brienza.
In the first six days of the championship, Cantù scored four points, the result of home wins against Reggio Emilia on Oct. 12 (83-78) and with Vanoli Cremona on Nov. 2 (91-83). There have been four losses, however: on Oct. 5 in Trento (109-69), on Oct. 19 at home against Trapani (81-63), on Nov. 26 on Brescia’s parquet (104-94) and on Nov. 6 at PalaSerradimigni with Dinamo Sassari.
