ATP Finals, Lorenzo Musetti: "No leaks on Djokovic’s forfeit. I want to give it my all"

Lorenzo Musetti spoke on the eve of his outright debut at the ATP Finals, which began today at Turin’s Inalpi Arena. Tomorrow the 23-year-old from Carrara will play his first match of the preliminary round against the U.S. Taylor Fritz. Here are his words.
“Now I just want to focus and enjoy what I went for. This is a really important week for me, I want to enjoy it and try to express my best tennis. My physical condition right now is good, I don’t know if it’s because of the excitement and the fresh news.”
“There was never any statement from Nole (Djokovic, regarding his possible forfeit at the ATP Finals that was later confirmed, ed.). The’only statement he had made in the press conference was that he would say yes or no at the end of the tournament.
That was it, I stood by what he had already announced, however, there’s never been a leak.
“I think everyone struggles, some more and some less, but I think it is physiological, especially a sport at this level, that when you get to this point in the season, fatigue both physical, mental, and tennis fatigue sets in for everyone. Then of course everyone has their own path, everyone has their own way.”
“I haven’t planned anything for next year yet because it’s been a very busy end of the season anyway and I’ve been chasing unfortunately, maybe even too much, these Finals and for one thing or another I haven’t enjoyed a lot of things, maybe I’ve been mishandling sometimes even the pressures, or maybe I’ve been putting too much pressure on myself in certain tournaments about wanting to do well to qualify, so I really haven’t had a chance to think about next year yet.
