Ivan Juric is no longer the coach of Atalanta. In the aftermath of the Nerazzurri&#8217s defeat against Sassuolo in Serie A, the Orobic club took the decision to change technical guidance, thus closing the chapter opened last June 6, when the Croatian coach took the place of Gian Piero Gasperini, who has since moved to Roma.

“Atalanta BC – reads the note released Monday afternoon by the club – announces that Ivan Juric has been relieved of his duties as First Team coach along with his closest collaborators, namely Matteo Paro, Miguel Veloso, Paolo Barbero, Stjepan Ostojić and Michele Orecchio. The club thanks Ivan Juric and his staff for their efforts and wishes them all the best for the future”.

Juric’s successor, according to what has emerged in recent hours, should be the’former Monza and Fiorentina coach Raffaele Palladino, who after giving up the chance to return to the purple bench is considered the favorite for the Nerazzurri’s, who already after Gasperini’s farewell had sought a coach with a similar playing philosophy, aiming, however, first at Juric.

The idea of seeing Thiago Motta on the Atalanta bench also still remains alive, although it is a more remote possibility. The Italo-Brazilian, who must, however, free himself from the contract that still binds him to Juventus (which exonerated him last March), is looking for a new adventure on the bench to raise his odds after the bitter Bianconeri experience.
