Lorenzo Musetti’s ATP Finals began with a loss to Taylor Fritz.

Thus, the Carrara tennis player’s path becomes immediately complicated, as he is now forced to beat first Alex de Minaur and then Carlos Alcaraz to qualify for the semifinals. On the sidelines of Monday&#8217s match, the Italian tried to explain what went wrong against the American.

“Taylor played really well – Musetti told reporters present in Turin -I knew I could not be 100 percent, I did what I could but he was better than me. I am sorry for those break points in the third game, maybe there the match could have taken a different path”.

“What worked best for him? Certainly the service response, while I didn–t have a great feeling with the ball,– added Musetti -. Now I have to think about the next matches: I am so proud to be here, I will do everything to honor them as best I can even if it is not easy. It is nice to feel these emotions, clearly though I would have liked to win”.

The next opponent is Alex de Minaur, an Australian tennis player whom Musetti has beaten in three of the previous four, losing, however, the one played on concrete. “The time to recover is there’and this gives me the impetus to try – explained the Carrara player -. We will try with the staff to find new energy, hoping to get another result in the next match”.
