Bregenzerwald, evening to forget

On Wednesday night, EK Die Zeller Eisbären delivered a dominant performance in the AHL, earning a crushing 7-0 away win against EC Bregenzerwald. The guests controlled the game from the opening whistle, creating numerous chances and conceding almost nothing on defense. Goalkeeper Alexander Schmidt scored a shutout after a good performance.

Despite the absence of seven players due to injury and call-ups, Zell am See set the tone for the game right away. Peter Putnik opened the scoring after only three minutes thanks to an excellent assist from Bohdan Tomazevic and Alexander Lahoda. Philipp Reiner doubled the lead a few minutes later and Paul Schmid scored the third goal in the second half. In the last period, the Eisbären remained solid in defense and increased their lead with four more goals.

Captain Max Wilfan and Fredrik Widen scored on empty goals, followed by Nathan Huard and Alexander Lahoda, who ended the game with a 7-0 lead. With this convincing victory, Zell am See not only celebrated its biggest win of the season, but also broke Bregenzerwald’s streak of six consecutive victories.

The team’s goal was the result of a 7-0 win.
