Nicola Brienza wants a battle derby

The eighth day of the championship features the return of one of the most historic challenges in Italian basketball. At 5 p.m. on Sunday, Acqua S.Bernardo Cantù will in fact take on Varese at the Itelyum Arena in Masnago.
“The first reason why this is an important game is because of the standings and we have focused especially on that – says Nicola Brienza -. Obviously then there is a rivalry between the fans and between the two clubs that is in the history of this sport in Italy and so there is an additional incentive to try to do a good performance. Such a challenge should be prepared with great care, putting the focus on what we will have to do on the field and trying to get to produce a different match from the away matches we have faced so far”.
“We know that we will be playing in a sold-out arena and that there will be an atmosphere full of adrenaline. We will have to be good at taking this energy and using it in our favor, creating the right tension. Our task must be to create the conditions to arrive in the last quarter in a situation where the ball may weigh a little more for them than for us” adds the Brianzoli coach.
After the success in Sassari on the first day, the team coached by Greek coach Ioannis Kastritis could no longer find the way to victory.
