“We cannot go on like this”. Aurelio De Laurentiis did not hide his irritation, speaking on the sidelines of an event dedicated to the upcoming America&#8217s Cup, when he addressed the issue of players&#8217 injuries with their national teams. The Napoli president, specifically, proposed a change of course to meet the needs of clubs.

“Rrahmani was injured in October with his national team, now Anguissa is also back injured: enough is enough – said, catrgoric, the patron of the Neapolitan club.

The leagues should be able to start and end without interruptions, fewer games should be played and fewer teams should be available. Clubs should be protected”.

In this sense, De Laurentiis added: “It is the clubs that give a salary to the players and therefore they should have the final say on whether or not to play them. In cases like this, when a player is injured during a break, the market should be reopened and the club should be compensated”.

Anguissa&#8217s is the latest case of injury in the national team concerning Napoli: the midfielder, during the training camp with Cameroon’s cuo Cameroon, suffered a high-grade muscle injury to the hamstring in his left thigh, an injury that will keep the 29-year-old player away from the field for a long time (at least three months).
