Embarrassment in Ducati, Pecco Bagnaia speaks out on the petrol case and points the finger at other problems

Pecco Bagnaia spoke about the gasoline case in Ducati after the Valencia Sprint race, which saw him finish in the rear. During qualifying on Saturday morning, the Piedmontese centaur found himself incredibly dry, running out of gas in his bike: “It is something that should not happen, but everyone can make mistakes. I have made many and it happens to everyone”, he told Sky.
“It was a human error, but I think we are all in a difficult situation in the box: you try to do the best you can, but it is not easy, and these things can happen here”, continued Bagnaia, who has sobered up in anger after the team’s mistake.
Fuel or not, Bagnaia on the 2025 bike is not going: “Am I fifth overall? It doesn’t matter, the goal was something else, not the podium. After a year of trying a thousand things, no one ever had ideas and no one has ideas anymore. I just hope to have fun now”.
Team manager Davide Tardozzi also apologized for yet another embarrassment of the season: “We made an error of judgment ourselves, we apologized to him. It penalized us a lot, I was convinced Pecco could enter Q2. We made a mistake, we apologize”.
