Ducati, Pecco Bagnaia ends his horrendous season in the gravel: fifth retirement in a row

E’ Pecco Bagnaia’s nightmare season ended in the gravel: the Ducati centaur crashed in the first few corners of the MotoGP Valencia Grand Prix, and was unable to restart. The three-time world champion, who started from the back of the field, made contact with Zarco and went straight, eventually ending up off the track in the gravel.

The Piedmontese rider, who left with great ambitions at the beginning of the year, thus ended the ugliest season of his career: almost never at ease on the Ducati 2025, Bagnaia suffered the very strong rivalry of teammate Marc Marquez, who instead dominated the’entire championship. The two-time MotoGp champion ended the World Championship in fifth place overall, after a disastrous second half of the season.

The Piedmontese rider after the illusory victory in Japan has in fact definitely collapsed, with five retirements in the last five races of 2025. The relationship with Ducati is faltering despite a contract until 2026, on Saturday the’latest controversial episode: his bike ran out of gas before the end of qualifying due to a team mistake.
