Portugal, 9 goals without Ronaldo. Shock defeat of'Hungary: Ireland in playoffs

Portugal crushes Armenia in the last match of Group F of the European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup: the Lusitanians, without the disqualified Cristiano Ronaldo, overcame Armenia 9-1 in the last match of the group with hat tricks from Joao Neves and Bruno Fernandes and goals from Renato Veiga, Goncalo Ramos, and Juventus’ Conceiçao.
In the other match in Group F, Ireland beat Hungary 3-2 in Budapest, eliminating the Magyars coached by Marco Rossi and qualifying for the playoffs in March. The hosts ended the first half ahead 2-1 with goals from Lukacs and Varga after Parrott’s momentary equalizer from the penalty spot, but in the second half they were sunk by a brace from Parrott himself, scoring on 80’80’ and 96′: a hat trick that could remain in history if the Greens qualify for the World Cup.
