Jannik Sinner scored a key victory in his rivalry with Carlos Alcaraz: Justine Henin, former world number one tennis player and now a pundit for Eurosport, is sure of it. “With the exception of the Wimbledon final and the match at the Six Kings Slam in Riyadh, which does not count in the official match count anyway, Jannik Sinner had lost seven of the last eight matches played against Carlos”, Henin noted.

“This success is crucial because Jannik had made no secret of the fact that he had suffered greatly from the defeat at the U.S. Open: that knockout was tough, and that” is why the victory in Turin is very important,” continued the former Belgian tennis player.

According to Henin, Sinner may have marked a turning point in the overall confrontation against the Iberian, a change of’inertia: “This was the first real challenge between the two of them since the US Open final”.

“Alcaraz may have been hampered by the physical problem he suffered in the match, he was unable to make the right choices and play better in the second set. But considering all these factors, you had to be at the top of your game, and Sinner was. It is another deserved title”.
